Hoo yeah

i’m all moved in.

and it was worth every back-breaking, sneeze-inducing minute.

:)

the room’s got heaps of space so swing by if you’re in the area to do a couple of stretch-outs or cartwheels on my carpet.

oh, oh. and get this.

i. get. my. own. en. suite. bath.

….

you know it’s comin’.

say it with me.

huzaah!

ok, i gotta go empty my clothes in the suitcases and hang them in my FULL LENGTH DOUBLE MIRRORED WARDROBE (lauren, are you breathing envy flames already?).

hoo yeah.

Hello goodbye

i can’t believe it was only two winters ago that we traded secrets on some very cold Spring steps.

:)

happy two.

***

today was my last day at flemington pri.

i went around school drifting on a semi cloud, willing the day to drag on a little longer, just so i could spend more time with the kids. during yard duty, i stood there, trying to absorb as much of the Preps as i could - salleh (who is always frowning) skipping about madly with a plastic skipping rope; ensoh trying to get daniel’s attention and totally ignoring josh who was attempting to buy her affection with little plastic rings (ah, so young and he already knows the tricks of the trade); little katya mooching about the playground looking even smaller than she already is in her oversized pinafore; ethan, running around hiding behing a bush; lily and henry dobbing on maia; ahmed climbing up a pole, then getting a horrific yelling at; ella coming up to tell me she’s got “two dogs and two boyfriends” (note the correlation).

*sigh*

good thing flemington’s only a couple of tram stops away from home and i’ve got a standing invitation to drop by anytime.

in other riveting news.

am moving house tonight and over the next two weekends. my room is a tragic mess and i’ve gotten quite agile at side stepping bags, leaping over boxes to reach my cupboard and navigating my way in the dark to get to my bed. yeh, i’m bril like that.

i’m really looking forward to the new place and am thrilled to have the gardens opposite again. reckon ro’s gonna have to do a bit more walking (heehee), and he won’t be a mere lean-out-the-window away anymore, but meh, it’s all good. funnily enough, i have another rohan (punj!) living next door whom i’ve already conned into cooking dinner and carrying safeway groceries for me. sabs, i’ll train him well for you.

it’s gonna be a busy couple of weeks but hey yo cheery hi ho.

oh and s26 is SO the milk for champs.

Weekend happy

there’s nothing quite like having close friends over for dinner and a poker session.

that, and wandering around fitzroy’s rose st artist market with the Boy who surprised me with a much-ly coveted independent-designer necklace.

*beams*

say it with me.

huzaah.

it’s my last week at flemington primary. friday’s going to be difficult, especially saying goodbye to children who i know deserve so much better. my heart’s been aching a little over the past couple of weeks seeing the different lives unfolding before me in class and there’s so much i wish i could do to make things alright. no child should have so much drama in their life. not at five years old anyway.

but then i have to remind myself that some battles cannot be won single handedly overnight and that all i can do is try to make those precious few hours i have in a day with my kids count.

which well and truly sucks. because don’t all (good) teachers have that innate desire to save the world, one lonely child at a time?

It’s morning where you are

tonight, i learnt that:

1) i have good neighbours.

2) people can be enervating, but you don’t have to be.

3) we all need someone who will put up a united front for us.

4) you can choose to care or not.

5) the years don’t always erase the memories.

6) everything has got to do with perception.

7) you never can stick with the status quo.

8) i think more eloquently when angry.

9) it is alright to not act your age once in a while.

10) there is, and always will be common ground even within change.

i got my fill of tim&kirsten’s lil isabelle. she’s gooooorgeous!

ro was trying to serenade/indoctrinate her with tracks from sceneatthemovies, who by the way, are number five this week on hitz fm’s malaysian top ten.

number FIVE! nombor LIMA! huzaah!

after church, we decided to take advantage of the sunny skies and walk thru treasury gardens. the leaves were a lovely scattered mass of red, yellow and brown and i kicked myself for not being one of those people who lug their cameras with them everywhere they go.

Pancake principle

what saturday mornings should rightly be like:

making funny pancake shapes on a hot skillet and having them with lashings of nutella/peanut butter/maple syrup.

mmm pat-a-cake-pancake.

:)

ro: *ponts to an immaculately round picklet pikelet* that’s you, cos it’s perfect and nice. and that’s me *points to a not-so-round picklet pikelet* cos i’m edgy and defy boundaries.

me: BUAHAHA!

the first sem of post grad is DONE. COMPLETO. FINITO.

we survived integrated unit planners, unearthly-hour lectures, the numerations test (puhtooi) and fractions (haha felix!).

will be taking intensive Phys Ed in a couple of weeks. word has it it’s a full-on one week work out sesh with rigourous running and training.  i like! sure beats running round the city in the blitzing cold.

(i reckon P.E lessons here don’t really require much throwing of pundi kacangs into gelung rotans)

ro got a pair of awesome claude maus jeans.

he always gets the nice stuff.

-_-

i can’t believe i’m jealous of HIS clothes.
