My chemical imbalance

it’s like having to choose between a green tea frappe or a hot chai latte.

i need a dose of Clarity.

***

i received an early (and most unnecessary) wake up call today.

6:41 am

*ro: rise and shine! wake up wake up!

me: *grunt*

*ro: do you know what time it is? it’s 830 here and i’m off to work. what’re you doing still sleeping!

me: are you crazy. do YOU know what time it is?

*ro: the people in south africa are up picking potatoes by now. get up!

me: …..

*ro: eh i got to cross the road. talk to you later.

me: ….

i fell back asleep, waking up in intervals to laugh whenever i thought of people in south africa picking potatoes.

he be the one who makes me smile.

Weekend amusements

i think the highlight of my weekend was seeing someone fall into the water feature at bar savanh. not a little dip, not a little splash, but a full on, whole-body-submerged kerplunk!i stood there for a good two seconds, amazed that he actually fell in.

then i burst out laughing and ran to tell my mates.

me thinks management might wanna rethink having pond thingamajiggies in dimly lit, packed places where hrmm, i dunno, alco levels might be at an all time high?!

Day daze

i caught the flu bug in just under two hours.

beat that.

one minute i’m fine, up and about taking a literacy class, the next wham! i’m down with puffy eyes, a sneezed-out pair of lungs and tissues stuffed up my nose.

i mean, i adore my kids, but dang it, do they have to spread their snot and germs around like it’s Christmas?

it’s summer break after next week.

can you hear the hallelujah chorus?

i jest.

term break this time round is a trifle bitter sweet. when school resumes in september, the year sixers would have all graduated to high school/boarding school/swiss alps/daddy’s second mansion in spain, whichever. me? i’ll be getting a whole new batch of year fives to teach. brand new set of names to learn up, new characters to deal/fall in love with, new cartload of antics to anticipate.

corr. this should be fun.

but till then, it’s the holidays bay-bee!!

woot!

***

i celebrated ro’s end-of-project with a choc chip cranberry muffin.

well, that’s how i justified scoffing down a giant bubb of unprocessed-flour, anyway.

*happy shrug, and wipes crumbs of lap*
