Frah-ai-day!

i’d like to think the nice lady at bakers delight had an amusing 940 morning moment packing three cape seed fruit and nut loaves to a dishevelled, out of breath girl, rushing to beat the rain and time before leaving for home.

could i have four cape seed loaves please.

we only make three loaves a day, love, but i could pop you some of the rolls instead?

oh, i’ll take them all. umm including the rolls, thanks.

so for anyone wanting cape seed fruit and nut loaves, don’t go to the baker’s delight along lygon street.

Homecoming

i am in a naked room.

there isn’t a single photo on the wall, my windows are completely devoid of post-its, my shelves are bare and for once, i can actually see where my desk begins and ends (corrr…it’s so white!)

i am going home (wheee!frah-ai-day, frah-ai-day!).

and when i return, i will be moving house. yes, after two and a half years, it has finally hit that college square is a rip off. i am outta here! the living room is mooshed-filled with mountainous stacks of brownboxeswithflapsopened. already, there are eleven boxes, out of which seven are from my room alone. and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. i am not even remotely finished with packing yet. ohdearieme! i’m such a hoarder! well, looks like the guys have their summer program all fixed up for them.

be a man, do the right thing.

*fie waltzes away duster in hand*

:)

to my flight buddies: we’re going hoooooome!! chung, you all set with the flight plan? *secret wink and handshake code* if all else fails, there’s always the stuff-kai-in-the-toilet procedure to fall back on.

to ben and eric: don’t miss us too much. perfect the mentos in coke feat! oh and uhh, don’t hang out so often with each other, please? not healthy; two home-sick boys spending so much time together, watching romantic movies all. hehheh…i will miss you both! dfo shopping, FiEric to do’s and computer hacking lessons when i get back k? see you two in the summer! *hugs*

Recipe nights

the FiEric top to-do’s:

1. mentos terrorism spouts of joy
2. radiating cheezels
3. floating rainbow spheres
4. pea nutty pig
5. morning light fountain robbery/GPT grand pool theft
6. ichorous wax rockets

***

one bottle of diet coke
one tube of mentos
one exceptionally cold spring night
one lincoln square location
three video recordings
six very stoned/high/hyper friends

mentos in coke = a supposedly awesome six feet eruption

OUR mentos in coke = a miserable blubber and overflow of coke foam

:)

but hey, it was fun okay.

no crossings out yet. we shall attempt again!

oh and someone beat us to pouring soap powder into the fountains (how come we didn’t think of that?). frothfrothfroth!

Thoughts at five

naturally, i’ve chosen my final week in melbourne to pack my bags, clean my apartment, box my toomanyhoarded belongings, do my laundry, shop for my mum/cousin/sister/uncle/aunty/grandparents/college nonya and meet up with a gazillion people for movie/coffee/dinner/rock climbing/chitchat.

nevermind that i had over three weeks of complete free-ness to do everything.

:)

in the midst of all the exciting bustle, a deep peace that comes only by walking in His directed path rumbles through. it is amazingly liberating to let go and let God; to breathe in His awesome splendour and grace; to live in the today and to wait in eager anticipation for what lies ahead; to know that my days are going to be simplythebest because He holds me in the palm of His hand; to be able to honestly say that it is well with my soul.

it’s wonderful to look forward to things. and yes, even change. i am usually not a big fan of change (doh! who is). those who know me will recall me being a total wreck when my carefully planned life schedule gets messed up. reformat systems do not exist in the life of stephanie lim.

reformatting = wiping out of the old = re-entering and recovering lost data = impossible tasks = harassed and deranged stephanie

however, i beg to differ now. i couldn’t be happier with this current reformatting that’s happening in my life. God has little ways of preparing one for the onslaught of change. how absurd of me to think that He would leave me floundering in waves of doubt and fear!

how deep the Father’s love for us
how vast beyond all measure!

in an hours time, the sun will rise. and with it, the beautiful Dawn.

early in the morning
i will celebrate the light
God of wonders
beyond our galaxy
You are holy
Lord of heaven and earth

ascribe greatness
to the Rock so high

thank You.

Of smiley arithmetics and gods who listen to bach

wk: gods exist at the top of the food chain. and down the hierarchy are little gods,
littler gods, and all the way down are the atomic littlest-gods.and they listen to bach’s fugues.

me: …

wk: can a person eat upside-down?

me: umm…

wk: i suppose, i could empirically determine the answer - eat a whole lot of papayas upside down, remain in that position for a day. if i have an urgent need to purge, then yes! a person can eat (and digest) upside-down. i have no idea how i can be upside-down for a day. perhaps, by tying my legs up to the water-sprinklers.

me: !!

wk: hey, smiley arithmetics (proceeds to show a series of equations involving smiley emoticons)

me: BUAHAHHAHAHA!

conversations with mr woon leave me speechless and laugh-y all at once.

Football and then some

and finally, after thirty two years, the socceroos are back in the game.

woohoo.

three angst filled boys with violent, againsturuguay tendencies , one lucky football, a pack of maltesers for throwing at the spas stupidas referee, and a mountain of pillows for hiding-during-penalty-shootout purposes.

*grin*

what a passion.

Untitled

a memorial
and a tossing
into wind blown sheets
of cold plaster
and framed windows.
a straight line
and vultures twist
and writhe overhead.
this sweet madness
this glorious scar pulled shard
of distracted remembrance.
mystery that builds dreams
dreams that build hope
and you spend all your time waiting
in that enshrouded cloud of bliss.
learn to live
in the epitome
of a stranger angel.

can you hear with me?

potent whispers
cold frost and warm hearts
oh that we would never err!
stretched in entropy
lilith weak.
i am me
when i’m with you.

i will be your quintessence.

Techno toys

suburb surprises in boxes and bubble wrap.

waking up in the late hours of the morning (yes, i sleep in till 11 these days. oh the horror!) to the smell of my spanking new logitech toy is uber cool.

oooh-ing and aaah-ing over it with my bro is uber cool-er.

setting it up and traipsing all over the house to test out its wireless prowess is uber cool-est.

can you see this?
can ya, can ya?
i’m ten feet away from the screen!

sweeeet.

hardeeharhar. who knew i’d be so hyped over technology.

thank you for being so excited about it as well. it’s heaps better sharing in technojoy :) oh, and for explaining things to me too. even the… uhh… silly things. really, silly things.

i said i liked techno gadgets. i never said i knew the nitty gritties intimately.

*happy shrug*
