Druggy

I realised the other night that I have quite an extensive medicine chest. Two Ikea plastic boxes (green and purple) stuffed to overflowing with multi coloured pills for every ailment under the sun. I have listed the pills in categorical anatomical order. Starting from the top:

Headache/Fever
* Panadol (film coated for easy swallowing), contains Acetaminophen (paracetamol). Not suitable for paracetemol allergic people eg Dawn Hu.

Stye (or other eye symptoms including burning, stinging and itching)
* Stye Eye Ointment, contains added wheat germ oil. To give that twinkle EYE suppose.

Flu/Cold (most common illness of which I am an expert in treating)
* Parakol (haha…don’t you all know this one). For flu, fever and aching body. Do NOT take with Panadol. Can die wan, I think.
* Polaramin. For nasal congestion and allergies. Alternatively, use Vicks Vaporub. For external use. Has soothing whoosh type of vaporizing effect.

Cold Sore
Here we have a choice of TWO creams.
* Nyal COld Sore Cream used by Stephanie Lim and Nelson Ye
* Zovirex prefered by Eddie Cheong
Nyal - approx $8 for a long tube
Zovirex - approx $13 for a tube that lasts one bout of sty.
Take your pick.

Cough/Sore Throat/Yeet Hei
* Yong Tam Herbal Pills. Go natural!
* Lor Hong Kor Herbal drink. The only medicine I’d willingly take.

Wheezing/Beathing Like Puss in Boots with a Stuck Hairball
* Ventolin. comes in a range of two or four milligrams.

Stomachaches/Wind/Diarrhea/Gastric (my territory)
* Those opting for a more traditional and natural cure, try Po Chai pills for tummy aches and Chi Kit Teck Aun Pills for wind. Word of caution: Extremely tiny pills may slide all over mouth thus causing a foul taste on your tastebuds. Drown taste out immediately with water.
* Immodium for bad bouts of diarrhea. Guaranteed to work. Fast relief.
* For extra coverage and protection, double up with Charcoal Pills. Black, icky, dry and powdery, but a stomach saver.
* Minyak Angin cap Dua Singa. For external use only. Rub medicated oil genrously on stomach area. Warning: Overpowering smell may cause extreme isolation.

Muscular Aches/Sprains/Rheumatism
* Tiger Balm. Similar smell effects as Minyak Angin Cap Dua Singa
* Neurofen Muscle Relief.

Cuts/Grazes/Minor Burns & Scalds/Sunburn/Insect bites/Nappy Rash
* Savlon Antiseptic Cream. Soothes, heals and protects. ‘Nuff said.

Need a cure? Visit Stephanie at 9S02. Check for consultation hours. Minimal fee required.

Add all ingredients EGG-cept…

Been in a cooking/baking mood lately. Was surfing the net for recipes and phoowee, didn’t realise there were so many substitues for eggs. For EGG-xample:

One egg equals any one of the following:

1) 2 tbs flour
1/2 tsp oil
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tbs liquid

2) 2 tbs water
1 tbs oil
1/2 tsp baking powder

3) 1 tbs gelatin
3 tbs warm water

4) Yoghurt, mashed banana, appleasauce or other pureed vegetables or fruit are good replacements when making muffins or cakes

5) Use tofu in recipes that call for a lot of egg, like quiche. 1/4 cup tofu = one egg

Know of any other EGG-citing substitutes? Lemme know. Together we’ll make baking and cooking one heck of an EGG-sperience

*Note: not all recipes work well with these substitutes. But there are the general EGG-ceptions

Toy’s R Us

Wise man sitting crosslegged atop mountain top says he who dies with the most toys is still dead.

The book of Revelation mentioned winged horses and mythical creatures. Guess I won’t be needing my collection of My LIttle Ponies.

Ok. That was just dumb. That’s what four hours of sleep does to you.

Yes, folks. The moment we have all been waiting for. The lovely DAWN has arrived on our shores. She will be making several appearances hopefully today at all major hang out places (ie the home of Willz and SMK). So grab a friend and don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to see the famous DAWN HU in the flesh!

CLAP CLAP CLAP

* Welcome back to Melb Da!

Tooth Apartments: Open Now for Inspection Posted by Hello

Tooth Apartments

The dentist said that’s what I get for not brushing my teeth. I swear I’ve never heard of tooth apartments before. They moved just right in. I can’t say how many live here, but I’ve seen a few people wandering around.

A tenant spoke with me one time and he told me the layout of some of the apartments. Some even have garages and big furnished basements. Actually, I think it sounds like a pretty nice place. I like to think it’s because I’m a pretty nice landlord.

The End

Ho Ho Ho Horlicks

There is a bug crawling outside my window. Tip tap, hoppitty hop, up, up upwards. Oh! Whadayaknow? It’s NOT on the outside after all. Where’s the cellotape?

Smoooooosh.Squelck.Eeee eee! Nyah hah hah…

On an entirely different note. Of late, I’ve noticed that I’ve been spelling GIRL as GRIL. Should that mean something? Does that, as a good friend of mine would say, hide a deeper, unfulfilled desire to ummm…grill someone? Wait. Something?

Lalalalala…Wouldn’t it be nice. Ooooeerr. I just realised how this sentence sounds directly after the GRIL one. No, but seriously, I meant as in Wouldn’t it be nice, like if the world was Cadbury?

Tis a funny day. I’m in an odd mood. Convoluted ramblings and rah rahs.
